India’s Karnataka state government requests to extend ban on iron ore exports

Karnataka state government has planned to request Supreme Court to prolong the ban on iron ore exports this is because the government expects to have more time to set up the infrastructure for the prevention for illegal mining activity and iron ore transportation, reports said.

It is to be noted that the Supreme Court has given Karnataka state government 15 days to complete this request and submit it by April 20th.

Meanwhile, it’s known that Apex Court gave orders to withdraw the ban on iron ore on April 5th.

If the request for ban extension fails, Karnataka state will resume the iron ore exports on April 20th.
