Iron ore price to rise slightly but scrap prices to plummet last week in global market

It is reported that traded prices of raw materials were fluctuating for the time being after Chinese New Year Holidays.

As for scrap, the export list price was down by $30/ton from USA, and fell by NTD 500-600/ton in Taiwan domestic market respectively; it is very high possibility that scrap price to continue falling down this week in Taiwan.

On the other hand, the list price for pig iron has stayed flat; the price for spot iron ore has risen slightly to $146-149/ton C&F.

Regarding to steel slab, the list price remained steady but the demand seems not strong, and billet list price was down to NTD 18300-18400/ton. It is said that Taiwan's buyers will not make new billet purchasing before the global scrap price to become stable.
