Tata Motors sales grow 20% at 64,520 units in September

Tata Motors on Monday reported an increase of 20 per cent in its sales at 64,520 units in September 2018. The sales stood at 53,964 units in September last year, the company said in a regulatory filing. Commercial Vehicles (CV) domestic sales in September 2018 grew by 26 per cent at 46,169 units against 36,678 units in September 2017. The M&HCV truck segment for Tata Motors grew by 32 per cent at 16,239 units compared to 12,259 units last year. Tata Motors' I&LCV truck segment sold 5,465 units in September compared to 4,449 units over last year, a growth of 23 per cent. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd. said, "The growth for the overall PV industry is stressed with degrowth in all three months of the quarter. Early indications have been that the Industry has declined in September this year. Having said that, we grew at 7% on the back of continued demand of our new generation vehicles. For passenger vehicles, domestic sales increased 7 per cent at 18,429 units this month as compared to 17,286 units in September of previous year. Exports (from CV and PV) in September 2018 grew by 35 per cent with 5,250 units as compared to 3,887 units in September 2017. The company reported cumulative domestic sales for first half of this fiscal at 339,186 units with a growth of 40 per cent against 242,787 units in the same period last fiscal. ETPrime
