Rio Tinto cuts iron ore annual export target in 2020
Date: 20/02/2020

According to the news, the mining area at Pilbara in Western Australia, belonging to Rio Tinto, had been affected by the hurricane, which caused damage to the mining area's facilities. Furthermore, Dampier, the major industrial port nearby, which mainly export iron ore for Rio Tinto, was also slightly affected by the hurricane. This was the reason why Rio Tinto had reduced the export target of iron ore in 2020 from 330-343 million tons to 324-334 million tons. However, Rio Tinto said they would try their best to resume operations at Pilbara areas as soon as possible after the hurricane passed.
