Dharmendra Pradhan, the Indian Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister of Steel, asked the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), an Indian state-controlled mineral producer, to increase its iron-ore production output and speed up the construction of Nagarnar steel plant. Pradhan mentioned that NMDC should focus on iron ore production, to stabilize the iron ore price and make sure those domestic steelmakers to get the material fairly. Pradhan wanted to supervise the NMDC’s steel mill so that the construction could be prioritized.
