Indian Brass, Copper Scrap prices remain stable; Copper Futures down

India's major brass and copper scrap prices remained stable on the Scrap Register Price Index as on Tuesday, while copper futures prices at India's Multi Commodity Exchange dropped mainly due to a surge in warehouse stocks but the threat of strike action at two Chilean mines curbed losses. India's major brass and copper scrap commodities like brass bharat accessories, brass chadripital desi, brass pales scrap, brass pallu scrap, brass radiator desi , brass radiator imported, brass sheet cuttings,brass sheet scrap, brass shell 40mm, brass utensil scrap, acr copper coil 3/8, cc rod lme ++, copper armature, copper cable scrap, copper cathod lme ++, copper heavy scrap, copper sheet cutting, copper shell 40mm, copper utensil scrap, copper wire bars and electrolytic copper strip 25mm showed a flat trend on the Scrap Register Price Index as on Tuesday. The most active July copper contract on the India's Multi Commodity Exchange settled higher by 0.52 percent to Rs. 385.75 per kilogram on Tuesday from previous close of Rs. 387.75 per kilogram. Copper Futures at MCX touched an intra-day high of Rs. 390.00 per kilogram and an intra-day low of Rs. 386.00 per kilogram during Tuesday. A decline in copper prices was offset by news that Chilean miner Antofagasta was facing potential strikes from workers and supervisors at two of its mines as contract talks continue.
