The Institute of Indian Foundrymen Signs MoU with CBSE

The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) has been pursuing the case for skill development for foundry industry at various forums.

Accordingly pursuant to the meeting of the then president, IIF , with Minister of HRD in 2011 a detailed proposal was submitted by Director Foundry Informatics centre, New Delhi to CBSE followed by & several meetings with CBSE Authorities to introduce a vocational programme in Foundry Technology in a few selected CBSE affiliated schools in few foundry clusters on pilot bases. Accordingly under the guidelines of past chairman, Education Committee, action was initiated by FIC, Delhi with help of CET and work regarding writing of text books for class XI & XII has now been completed.

The teachers manual has been taken up. The promotional brochures regarding the vocational programme has been made by Foundry Informatics Centre, New Delhi. IIF is now required to shortlist a few interested schools close to foundry clusters and also to select few trainers .

The roles and responsibilities of CBSE & IIF have been detailed in the MOU which was recently signed by Mr. Harsh Jha, President, IIF & Dr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE on 6-11-2012 at New Delhi in presence of Mr Naresh Garg, Mr V.P.Saha, Mr B.Dutta & Mr A.K.Anand
